Students learn about the methods criminals use to steal identities online.

What is identity theft? Have you ever pretended to be someone you’re not? Well, identity theft is worse that pretending to be someone else, identity thieves steal money out of bank accounts, use other people’s credit cards to buy goods, or eve n borrow money from a bank pretending to be you!  At the end of this lesson you will be able to:

Cognitive Objectives:

  • Define online identity theft
  • Describe several ways it can occur.
  • Research online identity theft and create a tip list for preventing it.
